ETH Program History

The certificate program in Ethnographic Studies (ETH) was approved by the University's Board of Trustees in May 2015.  The first ETH certificates were awarded in June 2017 to three graduating seniors majoring in the departments of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Psychology, and Spanish and Portuguese.

All interested students are welcome to enroll in the program at any time; however, planning a course of study early during one's undergraduate years is recommended to ensure timely completion of the core and elective courses.  See examples of trajectories for ETH students.  Learn more about the program or contact us for more information.
