The Anthropology Department is thrilled to welcome the class of 2027 into our vibrant academic community! As our new majors begin this exciting journey, they are joining a field dedicated to exploring the rich complexity of human life—past and present, near and far. They are stepping into a discipline that values curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for human diversity.

This year’s 44 incoming juniors bring a wide range of experiences, questions, and passions. Many are excited by our law, politics, and economics (LPE) track and are eager to learn from our new faculty, Arzoo Osanloo and Richard Wilson. Others are passionate about global cultures and language evolution as part of our sociocultural (SCA) track or how biology and environment shape human behavior in our medical (MedAnth) track. The juniors will join a thriving cohort of 50 rising seniors. Whatever their focus, our amazing students add great value to the department, the discipline, and the broader conversations happening in our world today.
