On December 4, 2022, CTP Co-Director Laurence Ralph discussed his book and film The Torture Letters with Reuben Miller (2022 MacArthur Foundation Fellow, University of Chicago) at the Seminary Co-op in Chicago, IL. After a short film showing and a reading from the book, they discussed how to talk about the history and continuing reality of police violence and torture in ways that help communities to heal and search for solutions to address police violence. The event was held as part of the community engagement project revolving around the film The Torture Letters, funded by the Field Foundation of Illinois.
