Laurence Ralph and Chelsey Carter Awarded the Setha M. Low Engaged Anthropology Award

The American Anthropological Association has awarded Laurence Ralph (CTP Co-Director) and Chelsey Carter (Yale University, CTP Affiliated Scholar) the Setha M. Low Engaged Anthropology Award for their work on the Police Torture and Community Healing Project.

The award honors individual anthropologists or projects that have demonstrated a deep commitment to social justice and community engagement by applying anthropology to effectively address a pressing issue facing people and the planet. 

The award will be presented during the AAA Award Ceremony (November 20, 7:30–8:30pm, TCC Ballroom B) at the AAA Annual Meeting in Tampa, Florida, and the honorees will also be featured in Anthropology News.
