Congratulations to Hanna Garth! Garth’s book Black Food Matters: Racial Justice in the Wake of Food Justice was named the runner-up for the Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP) Eduardo Bonilla-Silva Book Award. Black Food Matters analyzes how Blackness is contested through food, differing ideas of what makes our sustenance “healthy,” and Black individuals’ own beliefs about what their cuisine should be.
