Daisy Couture G2 awarded 2024 SPA/Robert Lemelson Foundation Fellowship

March 5, 2025

The Society for Psychological Anthropology (SPA) has awarded second-year Anthropology Graduate Student Daisy Couture a 2024 SPA/Robert Lemelson Foundation Fellowship.

The fellowship program provides support for doctoral dissertation research that has the potential to advance the field of psychological anthropology.

Daisy will use this funding to conduct exploratory fieldwork with clinicians and patient-activists this summer. This will allow her to further develop her dissertation project which explores functional neurological disorder; cultural sense-making about the relationships between the social, psychic, and somatic; and the psychic life of neuroscience in the UK.

The 2024 SPA/RLF fellows will be recognized at the Society for Psychological Anthropology Biennial Meeting (April 3 – 6) in Santa Ana Pueblo, New Mexico.
