Event Description

In this talk, Fausto elaborates on an Amazonian aesthetics that expresses itself through a regime of small intervals, producing variation by means of minimal differences. Fausto proposes that this aesthetics is not only foundational of indigenous Amazonian visual and verbo-musical arts, but also orients Amazonian peoples' practical engagement with(in) the world. In order to make my case, I present data on indigenous flute music, oratory, body decoration and agriculture.
