A Brazil LAB event featuring Patrícia Campos Mello and Brian Winter. Co-sponsored by the Department of Anthropology.

Patrícia Campos Mello is an editor-at-large at Folha de S. Paulo, the leading newspaper in Brazil. For over 25 years, she has been covering international relations, technology and human rights, and has reported from over 50 countries. She has been awarded several accolades, including the Columbia University Maria Moors Cabot award and the Vladimir Herzog Special Award for Democracy and Justice. She is the author of the best-selling book A máquina do ódio (Companhia das Letras), about disinformation campaigns by populist leaders in Brazil, India and the US.

Brian Winter is the editor-in-chief of Americas Quarterly and one of Latin America's most influential political analysts. He lived in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico as a correspondent for Reuters before taking on his current role in New York, where he is also the vice president of policy for the Americas Society and Council of the Americas. He is the author of several books, including The Accidental President of Brazil (with Fernando Henrique Cardoso).
